Repair vs replace

Most damage doesn't need replacing.

We offer a prompt solution that is much more cost and time effective than replacing damaged baths, shower bases, tiles, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, floor boards plus more.

A chip is usually a small area of a large surface. Replacing that surface means taking out something that still works, and paying for everything that comes with it.

A repair is done in place, on the surface that is already there. In most cases the surrounding tile, bath or benchtop is never touched.

The work

What actually happens to the chip

A chip repair is not filler and a dab of paint. It is a sequence, and most of the skill is in the middle of it.

Mask and protect

Everything around the damage gets covered. Taps, tiles, cabinetry and floor.
Clean out the chip

Loose material and any old repair come out. A filler will not hold on a chip that has been left dirty or is still lifting at the edges.
Fill and build up

Filled in layers rather than all at once, so it cures properly and does not sink back below the surface later.
Shape it back

Cut and sanded back to the original line of the surface. On a bath rim or a benchtop edge, getting the shape right matters more than the colour.
Match the colour

Mixed on site against your surface, in your light. This is the part that takes the longest and the part that decides whether you can find the repair afterwards.
Seal and finish

Sealed, and the finish matched to what is around it. A gloss bath and a matt stone benchtop need different treatment.
Clean up and go

Masking off, area cleaned, and you get told what to avoid for the first day or so.

Colour matching is judgement, not a machine. On very large areas of damage, or on strongly patterned stone, we will tell you upfront what the result will realistically look like before you commit to anything. Not everything can be repaired, and you will hear that from us rather than after the invoice.

What does a repair cost?

Less than replacing the surface. That is the comparison that matters, and it is not close.

Replacing a bath, a benchtop or a wall of tiles is a demolition job with three trades behind it. A repair is one visit.

The honest answer on an exact figure is that it depends on the surface, the size of the damage and how many spots there are. That is why we quote from a photo rather than a price list. Send one through and you will have a number without anyone visiting, and there is no call out fee.
